TAKE YOUR ARSE TO THE GYM!!!
The physiological adaptations that your body is capable of are so amazing, that they’re barely understandable! The stimulus that is training causes FAR MORE changes in your body than any supplement or fad diet- fact!
No, three sets of bench press isn’t going to rocket your strength levels, neither is one round of “Tabatas” on the Airdyne going to give you the heart and lungs of Mo Farrah. Of course they won’t, we all know that.
However, what if I take you to the track and we run 400’s at 90% pace with a 2 minute rest for six rounds.
Then we do that again 3 days later…
Then we do it twice again next week with a 90 second rest,
And then drop it to 60 seconds rest…
And so on for 4 weeks…
Do you think your cardio will have increased then? Errr- hell yeah! I don’t need to go into details like increased stroke volume, lactate tolerance and hydrogen buffering… you’ll be fitter.
Consistency + Intensity = results.
Structure your training. Plan your workouts and stick to this plan for 3-4 weeks.
Think ‘progressive overload’- ie small improvements each week.
Push yourself when you train, making sure you get adequate recovery, and you will be well on your way to where you want to be.
